Online Volunteering Service
The Online Volunteering (OV) service, managed by the UN Volunteers programme and formerly hosted at the site of NetAid, has just been re-launched at www.onlinevolunteering.org. The OV service continues its mission of connecting online volunteers with non-government and non-profit organizations, UN agencies and academic institutions in helping people and communities in the developing world.
Members of the OV service can apply for online volunteering assignments posted to the website by organizations serving communities in developing countries. Full of tips, resources and personal stories of online volunteers, OV is available in English, French and Spanish. OneWorld (www.oneworld.net), an online global community of over 1250 partner organizations covering a spectrum of development, environmental and human rights activities, is using the OV service to recruit online volunteer editors for its various editorial products.
