e-Volunteerism: The Electronic Journal of the Volunteer Community
e-Volunteerism is a quarterly electronic journal that "caters to volunteer leaders/managers who want to go beyond the mundane in the volunteerism field". Led by internationally-known volunteerism consultants, Steve McCurley and Susan J. Ellis, the journal publishes articles and commentaries from practitioners around the world as well as training resources, research reports and trends in volunteerism. In the current issue, for instance, Steve and Susan highlight what might be a new trend - "customer volunteering" (merging customers into employee volunteering efforts) - and what might be the implications of this form of service, both philosophically and managerially. Available to subscribers, the journal is full of interactive features, allowing them to post comments, contribute articles and participate in virtual roundtable discussions. Subscribers can also listen to experts' conversations about volunteerism issues.
